Chakradance, Reiki, and Healing Sound

Horse are marvelous candidates for Reiki.  The honesty, innate wisdom and energetic sensitivity of horses allows for powerful and transformational experiences.  These Reiki sessions utilize a unique frequency of animal life force energy that is especially tuned to the energetics of animals.  The Reiki is provided on their terms, utilizing whichever approach or method most aligns with their highest good.

Many animals find it comforting to share the Reiki experience with their human companions, so you may choose to be a part of the session and receive Reiki energy together.  This is especially helpful in strengthening your bond, increasing your clarity around any issues and promoting a sense of shared peace and connection.  It is also a beautiful way to bring healing to strained relationships and/or illuminate new ways forward during challenging times.  Every session is as unique as the horse for whom it is provided.  Being in a relaxed state, open to new possibilities and the highest good for this particular session provides the best foundation for success.  

Equine Reiki sessions may be conducted via distance or in person.  For in-person sessions, we will travel to your horse within a 20-mile radius of Purcellville, VA.  For locations outside of this radius, please schedule an Equine Distance Reiki Healing Session or contact us for consideration.  We will accommodate all in-person requests to the best of our ability.  Travel fees may apply for greater distances.

​Please note: For in-person sessions only, please schedule the appointment for 30 minutes earlier than the time you wish it to begin.  The scheduling software does not allow for travel time, so the Reiki practitioner will arrive 30 minutes AFTER the scheduled start time of your appointment. The session includes a full 60 minutes of Reiki.

What to Expect during Your Session

Distance Session

​Equine Reiki sessions can be quite effective when done at a distance via Zoom, FaceTime or telephone.  You will receive an email prior to your session with instructions on how best to prepare.  At the scheduled appointment time, we will connect via the chosen method.  The discussion period at the beginning of the session will give us a chance to discuss your intentions for healing.

Please have the horse already in a safe and comfortable location for the session.  Ideally, it should be untethered in an area (stall, paddock or pasture) where it is free to move around unmolested by other animals and with the least distractions.  For safety, it is best for the caregiver to remain outside of the horse's area.  Animals can sometimes behave uncharacteristically when releasing suppressed energies or confronting unhealthy beliefs they have tried to ignore.  In cases without video, the caregiver may choose to report the behaviors they are observing throughout the session.

At the completion of your session, you are welcome to discuss your experience, ask questions, or simply remain quietly in the energy.

The choice to participate and receive the Reiki energy is always up to the horse. While uncommon, if it is refused, the session will be rescheduled free of charge.

In-Person Session

You will receive an email prior to your session with instructions on how best to prepare.  If possible, please have the horse already in a safe and comfortable location for the session.  Ideally, it should be untethered in an area (stall, paddock or pasture) where it is free to move around unmolested by other animals and with the least distractions. 

When the practitioner arrives (30 minutes AFTER the scheduled start time), you will—ideally away from the horse—discuss briefly any pertinent history, challenges or areas of concern you wish to be addressed, and aspirations for the session. The practitioner will begin the session at a greater distance from the horse and only approach or make contact if requested by the horse, on the horse's terms. For safety, it is best for the practitioner and the caregiver to remain outside of the horse's area.

​During the session, the practitioner will mostly remain quiet, in a focused, meditative-like state and may move around, approach or step further away from the horse as they feel guided.  Animals can sometimes behave uncharacteristically when releasing suppressed energies or confronting unhealthy beliefs they have tried to ignore.  At the completion of your session, you are welcome to discuss your experience, ask questions, or simply remain quietly in the energy.
